What is ECU Multi-Mapping?
ECU multi-mapping is a process that allows multiple sets of parameters to be stored in your Toyota’s ECU at the same time. This means that, instead of having to manually reprogram the ECU each time a different set of parameters needs to be used, the ECU can store multiple sets of parameters and switch between them as needed – on the fly, while you’re on the go!
In the past, the only way to adjust an ECU’s parameters post-tuning was to manually reprogram the ECU, which was a time-consuming process that meant re-tuning your diesel each time you needed new parameters. How Does ECU Multi-Mapping Work?
Our ECU multi-mapping works by using special software to program the ECU. Our software works in conjunction with the ECU’s onboard processor to create multiple maps, or sets of parameters, that can be stored in the ECU. These maps can then be switched between as needed, allowing the ECU to adjust its parameters for different conditions and environments.

Just Autos Custom Multi-Map
Once your ECU has been multi-mapped by our team and the switch has been fitted appropriately in your Toyota, you can simply rotate the dial to the desired map you’d like to use in a particular driving setting or environment. Easy as!
Our most popular multi-map option has five settings:
0. Stock+
This is the standard factory map with a slight modification to improve drivability.
1. Immobiliser
When the dial is turned to this position, the engine will crank but not start. This function can only be accessed when the vehicle is stationary. Selecting this function during normal engine operation will revert it to Tow Mode settings.
2. Idle Up / Winch Mode
This map mode will raise the RPM to 1500-2000rpm, depending on the driving application. Once the vehicle has been driven or reached a speed of over 5km/h, the setting will revert to Tow Mode. We recommend not driving in this map mode!
3. Tow Mode inc. Engine Brake
Our tow mode map is designed for maximum engine efficiency and aids in the reduction of increased engine temperatures while under load. This mode has the ability to be used as an engine brake, though lower gear ratios with higher RPMs will have to be used.
4. Power Mode
This mode is simple: maximum output power!
5. Power +
Get the same power outputs as Mode 4 but enjoy better launch control with a lumpy idle and high pedal sensitivity.
ECU Multi-Mapping for Better Performance
ECU multi-mapping can be used to tune an engine for better performance, as it allows for the creation of custom maps that can be used to fine-tune the engine’s parameters. This can be useful for increasing the engine’s power output and improving its responsiveness.
For example, a custom map could be used to adjust the fuel injection timing and air-fuel ratio to increase the engine’s power output. This can be beneficial for Toyotas that are used for towing or off-roading, as it can help to improve their performance.
